Spot the scams that target creators
Fake agencies, fake brand deals, account thieves: the red flags to know.
Fake agencies and "management" offers
Real agencies exist, but many offers are traps: they ask for your passwords, take 50% or more, or demand an upfront fee.
- Never share your passwords or two-factor codes.
- Never pay to "join" an agency or a promotion program.
- Ask for a written contract and read the exit clause.
Account takeover
Messages saying "your account will be deleted, verify here" lead to fake login pages. Platforms never ask you to log in through a link sent in a DM.
Stolen content and impersonators
If someone uses your photos on DropYourSocials, report the profile or follow our content removal page: we remove impersonators and ban them. On other platforms, use their copyright or impersonation forms.
Payments
Sell through official platforms. Direct payments by gift card, crypto or payment apps from strangers are a classic setup for chargebacks and fraud.
